Can I clean the cd laser with air duster?

I have this annoying noise in my cd player and I went to buy a cd cleaner kit but the clerk suggested Memorex air duster for better results.... I am not sure if is safe to spray inside the cd deck. I am totally clueless when it comes to electronics, but I love to listen to my music clearly and smooth while I drive! I will appreciate your help and suggestions. Thanks!
