How do I file for joint custody without a lawyer?

I don't want to take the baby from it's mother, I just want fair visitation, how do I go about starting this without a lawyer? I don't have the money for one. Is there a website? Do I call the court or county clerk? Any help at all would be great. There are no court orders yet for anything. The baby is 5 months old... I just want time with my child. How can I legally do this?
